The Creator
Hey friends, I’m Chlo.
I’m 31 years old and for as long as I can remember, I have loved all things spooky. Magic, halloween, witches, pumpkin spice lattes, you name it, I love it.
Growing up undiagnosed neurodivergent, I spent a lot of my life feeling like I didn’t belong. I knew I wasn’t like everybody else but I couldn’t figure out why. Luckily, I always found safety and a sense of belonging through escaping to magical, fantasy realms.
Harry Potter has been the greatest love of my life (before my fiancé). But with She Who Must Not Be Named waging a war on trans people, I knew I needed to find somewhere else to inhabit. Nothing has ever come close to Harry Potter, so I decided to create my own world instead!
I’ve poured my soul into this world, so I hope you can feel that.
The Brand
The driving force behind Pumpkin Spice Sidequests is two fold.
On the one hand, PSS is an invitation for you to carve out screen-free time for yourself, to be creative and present while you escape reality for a little while.
On the other hand, this world is a therapeutic exercise for me. I have always needed a way to express myself, but could never quite figure out how. The colouring pages I create are mostly based on my own experiences; times that inspired or shaped me, small moments of joy and sometimes, dreams of what’s to come.
It’s also important to me to share my perspective and my experiences, in the hope that what I share will make somebody else feel seen, validated and understood. I hope the realm of Mooncroft will become a place as special to you, as it is to me
The World
Mooncroft is a cozy, eternally autumnal realm full of spooky towns folk. You can always smell fresh bread and pumpkin spice on the wind and every day you wake up with that feeling. You know, the nostalgia for that crisp autumn day that you’ve never really lived, sipping coffee with friends, wandering around a bookshop, watching the leaves fall from the trees and cozying up by the fire to watch your favourite halloween movie at the end of the day. You know the feeling.
Mooncroft is a place where everybody belongs. He, she, gay, they, as long as you’re not a c**t, you are more than welcome here. Spending a day here should feel like an autumn day in Stars Hollow (Gilmore Girls), but with retro, Scooby-Doo style, cute and spooky characters to explore with. I hope you find joy and comfort in this little world I’m creating.
